Kathryn (Kathy) K. Smith graduated from Wayne State College in 1978, was awarded an M.S. degree from The Pennsylvania State University in 1982, attended the University of Minnesota from 1982-1986, and graduated from William Mitchell College of Law with a J.D. in 1995.
Kathy advises and represents businesses and individuals on a wide range of matters, including business and corporate law, general business planning, civil litigation, commercial litigation, patent litigation, trademark litigation, contract law, transactional law, employment law, and matters involving personal injury, workers’ compensation, and estate planning.
Kathy is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Ramsey County Bar Association, and is admitted to practice before State and Federal Courts in Minnesota. She also appears before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board on disputed matters. Kathy has represented clients with disputes in Wisconsin, Missouri, North Dakota, California, Ohio, and Massachusetts. Kathy volunteers as a SCORE® representative, and is a past presenter for Minnesota Continuing Legal Education.
