Workers’ Compensation Minnesota law governs
the fees charged by an attorney in recovery of benefits for
an injured worker. Payment of your attorney is contingent
upon success in that representation.
- If the representation is limited solely to litigation
of payment of a medical bill,
and we obtain payment of the medical bill, our fee is paid
directly by the insurance company.
- If we represent you to obtain wage loss benefits or benefits
relating to a permanent injury, then our fee is based on
a contingent fee. If we are successful, then our fee is
25% of the first $4,000.00, and 20% of the next $60,000.00
recovered. This effectively limits the attorney’s
recovery to $13,000.00, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
However, to claim fees in excess of $13,000.00, the attorney
must obtain approval from the Court.
If we are successful, our costs are typically paid by the
insurance company
